Rural Organisations & Not-for-Profits
Imaging that travels to rural towns and the services that hold them together
Rural organisations and not-for-profits carry communities that sit hours from the nearest radiology department. We bring the department to the front door.
- No clinic room, fit-out or equipment cost
- Everything performed inside the X-ray van on arrival
- Scheduled circuits across regional and remote Australia
- Shared visit days between neighbouring services
The problem
Distance quietly rations care
When the nearest X-ray is a three-hour round trip, people simply do not go — and the organisations supporting them absorb the consequences.
Travel people cannot make
No car, no licence, no carer available, no money for fuel — the referral gets written and never actioned.
Volunteer and staff time lost
Small services burn scarce staff hours driving clients to regional centres and waiting with them.
No capacity to build capability
Not-for-profits cannot justify equipment, a room and a radiographer for the handful of scans they need each month.
How we solve it
A shared imaging service with no infrastructure attached to it
We drive in, park in a secured spot at your site, image your clients on board and drive out. Nothing is installed and nothing is left behind.

- Digital X-ray and ultrasound delivered entirely from the vehicle
- Scheduled circuit visits or one-off attendance days
- Shared visits across neighbouring towns, councils and services
- AHPRA-registered radiographers and sonographers on every visit
- Culturally safe, unhurried appointments in a familiar setting
- Reports returned to the referring GP or your nominated clinician
Working together
How the partnership runs
- Step 1
Enquire
Tell us your town, organisation and roughly how many people need imaging each month.
- Step 2
We scope the visit
We confirm parking, access, likely numbers and whether a shared visit day makes sense.
- Step 3
We arrive and scan on board
The X-ray van comes to your site, clients are imaged inside the vehicle and head straight home.
- Step 4
Results delivered
Reported studies return to the referring clinician, usually the same day.
Common questions
What coordinators ask us first
Do we need a clinical room?
No. Everything happens inside the X-ray van. All we need is a safe, secured place to park and access for your clients to step on board.
How far will you travel?
We run scheduled circuits across regional Australia wide. If your town is not yet on a circuit, tell us your expected volume and we will look at adding it.
Can several organisations share a visit?
Yes, and it is usually the most cost-effective model. Neighbouring services, councils and NFPs regularly co-host a visit day and split the attendance cost.
What does it cost a small not-for-profit?
Visits are quoted per attendance based on travel and expected numbers, with no equipment, fit-out or staffing cost to you. We will tell you honestly if the numbers do not stack up yet.
Discuss Your Organisation's Imaging Needs
Tell us about your organisation, location and requirements, and our team will be in touch to discuss how Insite Radiology can support you.
